Last week, I redeemed a prize had won through a TravelSort contest. TravelSort is a website which offers travel advice and great deals on 4-star and 5-star hotel rooms around the world. The prize I won was a one-night stay at Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York City.
I had a few friends question why I was so excited about winning one night in a hotel room when I had to cover my travel expenses and any other hotel costs other than my one free night. I've always wanted to go to New York City. Me visiting New York City was inevitable. Also, it puts a big dent in ones wallet to book most rooms in NYC. Lastly, it's the Trump in Manhattan, looking over Central Park. The NYC Trump makes the Las Vegas Trump look as if it has budget rates.
I'll bullet some of the highlights of my trip, with details to follow in subsequent posts.

I'll bullet some of the highlights of my trip, with details to follow in subsequent posts.
- I had high expectations for the Trump Hotel. My expectations were exceeded. The view of Central Park from my suite was magnificent.
- The foliage in mid-November was so beautiful, even a colorblind person could enjoy it.
- I took three different bus tours of the city; a downtown tour, and uptown tour, and a night tour. For somebody visiting the city for the first time, it was the best way to immerse myself.
- Rockefeller Plaza is more magical than it is depicted on television.
- I caught a glimpse of Adam Sandler walking into the Ed Sullivan Theater.
- As far as New York pizza goes, I didn't find the good pizza. I'm sure there's plenty there. It just wasn't in the two random places I tried.
- Zuccotti Park looked like a shanty town.
- I was more afraid of getting ran over by taxis than getting mugged.
- I attended a taping of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The guests were Robert Pattison, Mike White, Reggie Fils-Aime (the NA president of Nintendo), and Hunter Hayes (the Justin Bieber of country music).
- For somebody who loves signage as much as I do, Times Square is an ideal playground.
- I caught Michael Ian Black doing standup at the Bowery Ballroom.
